Blog #4 Creating Space
Starting a beauty brand alone is an arduous journey that parallels the challenges faced by many queer individuals. Both paths require immense courage, resilience, and an unwavering passion to create something unique despite the odds. Just as a person from the LGBTQIA+ community may face discrimination and doubts from society, a solo artist building a beauty brand often encounters skepticism, loneliness, and competition within the saturated market. Both experiences involve a persevering spirit to overcome societal expectations and carve out a space that celebrates authenticity and personal identity. Just as the queer community finds strength and support in their chosen families, aspiring beauty entrepreneurs benefit by surround themselves with like-minded individuals who provide guidance and encouragement. Both journeys may be fraught with obstacles, but the rewards of self-expression, empowerment, visibility and making a positive impact on others' lives make the trials and tribulations absolutely worthwhile.
At VMB, we take immense pride in collaborating with the most talented makeup artists in the industry who have consistently created breathtaking artistry on their celebrity clients and on themselves.
